The number of people practicing yoga in Russia has exceeded 10 million and continues to grow. Yoga as a sports direction is a mixture of gymnastics, aerobics and breathing practices. Now in almost every, even the smallest city, you can find a yoga studio (and more than one). Moreover, training is attended by everyone from young to old.

The versatility of the exercises and the individual approach make it possible to feel equally comfortable, both as very young “yogis” and people who have long retired. It allows you to keep in good shape not only the body, but also the spirit, and often helps to restore strength after complex operations and diseases, not to mention relaxation and stress relief.

Today we will tell you about what yoga gives an adult and how it is useful for children.

Strength, flexibility and balance

Slow movements and measured breathing contribute to better blood circulation in the body. Thanks to this, the muscles warm up faster. And regular repetitions of static postures help increase endurance and improve the functioning of the vestibular apparatus.

Relief from arthritis symptoms

Gentle yoga under the supervision of a qualified specialist will also help you get rid of the discomfort caused by joint inflammation.

Relief of back pain

Yoga includes basic stretching exercises that help get rid of back and lower back pain, and also allow the person suffering from them to become more flexible and mobile.

Relaxation and sound sleep

Numerous studies have shown that yoga before bed can help calm the mind and prepare the body for sleep.

Healthy heart

Regular yoga classes reduce stress levels and ease the course of inflammatory processes in the body. Such exercises contribute to the normalization of pressure and allow you to keep the weight normal. All this reduces the risk of heart disease.

Energy and good mood

After yoga, there is not only a surge of physical, but also mental energy. A person begins to feel more enthusiastic, becomes more attentive and optimistic. It is also noticed that regular practices weaken the flow of negative emotions.

Stress tolerance

Scientific studies have proven that yoga helps to manage stress more effectively and faster. This, in turn, makes a huge contribution to the mental health of a person, helps to be more conscious about your life, eat right and sleep well.

More recently, the publishing house “Archipelago” published an excellent yoga manual for young “yozhiks” and their parents – the book “Puppy Yozhik in search of a bone.” Popular children’s writer Zulya Stadnik and famous illustrator Svetlana Korotkova have created a unique project that combines an original picture book and a fascinating yoga textbook for the little ones.

Puppy Jozhik is looking for a bone and meets various animals along the way: a frog, a cow, a crow, a grasshopper and many others. Listening to the fairy tale and imitating these animals, kids will quietly and with pleasure master useful yoga poses and get used to doing physical exercises from an early age.
